April 15, 2014 (AUSTIN, TX) – Mike Rosenberg, aka Passenger, has announced a performance at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater on August 30th as part of his international tour in support of forthcoming album Whispers, out June 10. Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday, April 25th at 9am CST through c3concerts.com or stubbsaustin.com.
Passenger just completed a short promo tour in the States in conjunction with the Whispers album announcement. He debuted his North American lead single “Scare Away The Dark” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and also appeared on VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz” and The Queen Latifah Show. Additionally, he was a headliner at “Live In The Vineyard,” the exclusive festival in California’s legendary Napa Valley. While in the States, Passenger also received the news that he’d been nominated for three 2014 Billboard Music Awards: Top New Artist, Top Rock Artist and Top Rock Song (“Let Her Go”), as well as an iHeartRadio Award nomination for “Best New Artist.”
LISTEN TO SELECT TRACKS FROM WHISPERS HERE:
Whispers is comprised of 11 tracks recorded in Sydney and co-produced by Chris Vallejo. North American lead single “Scare Away The Dark,” which is already a fan favorite at live shows, presents listeners with a different side of Passenger than the one they’ve come to know from international smash single “Let Her Go.” It’s a riotous rant about technology taking over our lives, calling on listeners to seize the moment and embrace life. Though he didn’t realize it at the time, title track “Whispers” captures the chaos in Passenger’s head as “Let Her Go” began to snowball. “Heart’s On Fire” is the album’s grandest love song, starting sparse on finger picked guitar and building into a dramatic, passionate, strings-soaked plea to the person you can’t get out of your head.
Whispers is the follow up to 2012’s All The Little Lights, which featured the international hit single and 3x Platinum “Let Her Go.” All The Little Lights debuted on the Billboard Heatseekers chart upon its release in August 2012, where it remained for 45 consecutive weeks, grabbing the #1 position multiple times before crossing into the top 100 of the Billboard 200, where it currently remains, having peaked at #26 in January 2014. “Let Her Go” is in its 36th week on the Billboard Hot 100, having peaked at #5 following the songs use in the Budweiser “Puppy Love” Superbowl commercial. The single, which boasts more than 250 Million YouTube views, was also #1 at Hot AC, AC and Triple A Radio, as well as Top 10 at Top 40 Radio. During his 2013 sold-out world tour, the VH1 “You Oughta Know” artist appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Live! With Kelly and Michael, and just last month performed “Let Her Go” on the Today Show.
