From Los Angeles California, comes Jeremy Jay, one of the most exciting Singer/Songwriters of this era. With 4 Albums and 10 Singles to Date and
4 European & 4 USA Tours under his belt, Jeremy Jay has had a chance to
explore a wide scope of songwriting styles and develop his stage performance.
With influences ranging from the soundtracks of Danny Elfman & Christopher Komeda, to the music of Thurston Moore & Bowie and the Visual art of Rumiko Takahashi and Roy Lichtenstein.
Dream Diary (KLP 224, May 22nd 2011), Jeremy’s 4th album; sounds like a Japanese Anime motorcyclist speeding down the highway at night without destination. Passing Streetlights strobeing in the driver’s Peripheral vision. Tires burning color trails in the cold night air. All captured on tape.
The Song “It’s Just a Walk in the Park” sounds like Big Star played in a Edward Scissorhands Scene; where as “Caught in a Whirl” is a romance epic using Icy Synth lines on top of cascading bass lines and a driving ride beat.
Dream diary is a haunting album.
Recorded in Los Angeles at Stagg Street Studio by Gary Denton.
Dream Diary maintains a nocturnal feel throughout
…With the haunting high point “It’s Just a Walk in the Park”
Jay’s approach this time out has everything to do with his ear/eye for the screen.
